Benefits

The Production Telemetry Sub (PTS) serves as a communications interface and a programmable logging controller. It also incorporates a DC-DC converter to convert the high voltage on the head line to power the downhole tool bus. The PTS polls each tool on the tool string for its data packet and assembles these data packets into frames for uplink to the surface.
